A Project Undertaken by Wison Won National Outstanding Consulting Achievement Award

Recently, the feasibility study report of 400 kta coal to ethylene glycol project of Shandong Energy Group Hulunbeier Chemical Energy Limited undertaken by Wison Engineering won the third class prize for "National Outstanding Consulting Achievement Award 2014", which was issued by China National Association of Engineering Consultants (CNAEC).

 The feasibility research of the project started from February 2011 and ended in January 2014. Based on a detailed investigation and research of ethylene glycol market both in domestic and overseas, we took fully into account the aspects including the market potential for development, production technologies, utilities supporting conditions and the corporate overall planning etc. and ultimately determined the 400 kta coal to ethylene glycol solution. Thanks to the economical and reasonable production scale and solution with advanced and reliable process and technology as well as the utility meeting production demand, the project is regarded to be capable to  transfer local resource advantages into economy advantages effectively, and be a demonstration for domestic lignite clean gasification technology application.

The project integrates advanced and reliable technologies from China and abroad to reduce investment and enhance benefit. For example, the complete synthetic gas-to-ethylene glycol technology jointly developed by Wison Engineering, Tianjin University and Guizhou Xinxin Group is adopted in the solution. It uses gas-phase CO coupled with synthetic oxalate and oxalate hydrogenation to produce ethylene glycol, which is a reliable process with less material and energy consumption as well as outstanding environment-friendly advantage, leading in the field of ethylene glycol production.

The National Outstanding Consulting Achievement Award was evaluated from angles of  achievment level and application value of the shortlisted projects. The experts selected by the academic committee of CNAEC would give their comments on these projects firstly, then the academic committee decided the final awards in a secret ballot way.
