Wison Engineering Achieves Delivery of Its First Digitalized Factory Design Project

Release time:2014-06-23

Shanghai, 23 June 2014 – Wison Engineering Services Co. Ltd.(the “Company”, SEHK stock code: 2236, together with its subsidiaries, the “Group”), one of leading chemical engineering, procurement and construction management (“EPC”) service providers in China, announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Wison Engineering Ltd.(“Wison Engineering”), has successfully achieved digital delivery of the engineering of Xinjiang Dushanzi Tianli Industries’ 40,000 tons/year styrene plant the Company’s pilot digital factory(DF) project. Digitalized three-dimensional softwares were intergrated and utilized comprehensively for the engineering work, demonstrating Wison Engineering’s advanced digital engineering capability and its successful comprehensive application.

In this project, Wison Engineering undertook the basic and detailed design as well as master site planning for the styrene plant. The project scope includes the building of new units and upgrading of old ones, involving up to 50,000m of pipeline and nearly 400 units of equipment. Wison Engineering applied, Intergraph's new-generationSP3D 3D plant design software, SPRD material coding system, SPP & ID intelligent process systems, SPI smart instrumentation system, SPF data integration platform and other software in the design process to achieve inter-professional automatic data transfer. Meanwhile, the implementation of the SPPID and SP3D consistency checking mechanism ensures the accuracy of the drawings so as to further enhance design quality. Furthermore, engineering data can be transferred to procurement and construction phase to ensure consistency and to ultimately complete digital delivery.

In addition, through the implementation of the styrene project, Wison Engineering established a comprehensive database, laying a solid foundation for the full engineering digitalization of its subsequent projects.

Mr. Zhang Xuzhi, senior vice president of Wison Engineering, said, “Through its efforts in digitalization, Wison Engineering has achieved a leap from the computer assistance stage to the information integration stage. In the future, a collaborative working platform, unified coding system, multi-professional collaborative data flow, etc., will work together to associate project schedule planning and actual work progress while also relaying design data to the project site and future plant management. Meanwhile, the more accurate data and better professional structure will also considerably enhance the core competitiveness of the Company in full life-cycle project management.

Built on comprehensive data related to the total life cycle of products, digital factory is a new form of production organization which simulates, evaluates and optimizes the entire production process, and even the total product life cycle. Multi-professional collaborative design enables higher engineering efficiency and accuracy, more accurate materials procurement, more sophisticated and visualized construction, and the provision of construction data for the factory owner for the purposes of future maintenance and management. The popularity and application of DF is becoming an inevitable trend in different sectors, with DF being carried out among globally by leading engineering companies and becoming a vital indicator for overseas project owners in selecting contractors.
