Wison Nantong Heavy Load Quay Accepted for Opening

Release time:2009-06-12

The heavy load quay of Wison's Nantong Yard in Jiangsu Province has smoothly passed the provincial inspection for opening.

On the afternoon of May 21, 2009, provincial inspection team members from the Port Management Office and Audit Office arrived at Wison's Nantong Yard to join their counter parts from the government of Nantong for the site inspection and acceptance of the heavy load quay facilities. On May 22, in the inspection meeting, the inspection and acceptance team affirmed Wison's hard work for the construction of the heavy load quay facilities, and had instructed their requirements regarding the port's safe production and supervision after opening for foreign trade. Records of the inspection were approved in the meeting, and the inspection team agreed to apply to the Jiangsu Provincial Government for approval of the opening of the port.

The heavy load quay of Wison's Nantong Yard is at a length of 264 meters with width of 18 meters. The offloading platform is 120 meters long. The 52-meters-wide front of quayside forms part of the heavy loading skidway which is equipped with a self-designed and self-manufactured 250t rotary crane. The quayside water depth is at approx. 14 meters. This quay was completed in October 2006 and had loaded out 4 sets of modular drilling rigs in December of the same year.

The formal opening of Wison's heavy load quay means it is legal to park foreign vessels at the quayside with normal formalities. There's no longer need to arrange for formalities for every single vessel that parks along the quay. Of the 26 ports that are opened for foreign trade, this is the only one heavy load quay.
